Banchory Greenpower

Banchory Greenpower is a weekly, after-school project which inspires young people, aged 11-17, to excel in Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) through a unique challenge: to design, build and race an electric car. Led by five retired oil industry professionals, the aim is to make the car highly energy-efficient and to travel as far as possible in a 90 minute race. The students learn a range of practical skills, theory and about renewables energy management. These are key factors for a Net Zero world where there is a major skills and knowledge shortage.
