Projects from Year 1: Aberdeen Science Centre

Exploring the intersection of science and sustainability, Aberdeen Science Centre continues on it’s exciting journey towards a greener future. Thanks Support from the Scottish Government's Just Transition Participatory Budgeting (PB) Fund, ASC purchased an electric vehicle to transform into a dynamic mobile exhibit focused on climate change. This innovative project supports the drive to engaging public discourse on the urgent topic of climate change. Find out more in the video produced by ACVO TSI to showcase the project

After a successful public vote, Aberdeen Science Centre received £39,500 to purchase an electric vehicle to kit-out and use as an interactive Climate Change exhibit. Designed with mobility in mind, the van will further Aberdeen Science Centre’s reach by providing STEM-related education to the wider community.

This is Aberdeen Science Centre’s first company vehicle and, with it being fully electric, contributes towards their aim of becoming a more sustainable organisation. By purchasing this electric van, the charity have reduced their carbon footprint, helping towards Scotland’s net zero goal.

Steph McCann, Fundraising Manager, encourages anyone thinking of applying for the fund to do so. If you have a green, eco-friendly project that you think can benefit from the fund, find out more and apply now at jtpbfund.scot/apply
