Mastrick, Sheddocksley & Summerhill Community Council

The Greenfern Grove

Funding requested: £17,000

About this project

We are transforming an empty, unused space on Greenfern Road into a vibrant, accessible community garden filled with seating, raised planters, pathways, and greenery. This will be a welcoming place for everyone – families, schools, older residents, and those with limited mobility – to relax, connect, and grow food together. With pollinator-friendly planting, rainwater collection, and wildlife habitats, the garden will boost biodiversity while offering hands-on learning about sustainability. By turning a neglected site into a thriving hub of activity, the project will bring people together, improve wellbeing, and give Mastrick a new green space to be proud of.
