Decarbonising Energy use at Kingswells Village Hall

Funding awarded: £17,500

Energy efficient buildings

About this project

Kingswells Village Hall is acutely aware of its energy carbon footprint and energy costs.

Our plan

  1. Upgrade all lighting to state-of-the-art LED with proximity sensors reducing lighting demand up to 70%

  2. Replace the gas fuelled infra-red heaters with state-of-the-art equivalent electric infra-red heaters and controls. This also removes the water vapour produced by the gas heaters. This avoids the very costly option of insulating the building and fitting ASHP which is more costly to run.

Developments across Europe demonstrates Infra-Red (A) heating is significantly more effective and less costly to run than conventional heating for halls like ours.
