Electric minibus to support with volunteering opportunities for New Scots

Funding awarded: £37,395

About this project

We are currently supporting 400 New Scots who are awaiting decisions on their asylum claims and are making Aberdeen their home. To help them integrate into their new communities, we want to promote volunteering opportunities.

Volunteering not only helps organisations and can increase their capacity, but it is going to help these gentlemen by improving their mental health, improve their English and their sense of self. They receive only £9.10 per week and are not permitted to work. They are keen to begin to contribute to their new society and an electric minibus would enable us to facilitate this.
